  • By Plane
    For convenient and comfortable ride, flying is the best way to reach this rich country. There are several international airline companies operate flights in Saudi Arabia. The nation has three international airports found in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. Although, there are still other options to arrive in Saudi Arabia like by bus and boats but only rare foreign passengers travel with this kind of transport.

    Foreign carriers serving the nation are the following:
    1. Gulf Air  - the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain serving to over 40 destinations in different parts of the world. It was founded in 1950 with a main hub in Bahrain International Airport.
    2. Air France - named as the largest airline throughout the world operating in 185 destinations to 83 countries. It is based in Paris, France and Air France main base is at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
    3. Saudi Arabian Airlines - serving domestic and international scheduled flights to more than 70 destinations across the globe, Saudi Arabian Airlines is the national airline of Saudi Arabia. Its main hub is in Jeddah-King Abdulaziz International Airport whilst other major operation base is in Riyadh-King Khalid International Airport and Dammam-King Fahd International Airport.
    4. Qatar Airways - one of the worlds’s five-star airlines and has been the recipient of numerous international awards like the Best Middle Eastern Airline. Qatar Airways operates passenger flights to more than 81 international destinations. The main hub of Qatar Airways is in Doha International Airport.
    5. Air India - founded in 1932 as Tata Airlines, Air India was created with the merging of two airlines the Air India and Indian Airlines. This worldwide network of passenger and cargo services is the flag carrier of India.
    6. Lufthansa - the largest airline in Europe along with Air France-KLM (the second largest). It operates to 209 destinations in 81 countries, thus making it as the fifth largest airline in the world in terms of overall passengers carried.
    7. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines - deemed to be the oldest airlines throughout the world that still runs in its original name. This national airline of Netherlands is also a part of Air France-KLM. It was founded in 1919 and has domestic and worldwide scheduled passenger flights and cargo services to over 90 destinations.


Getting Around

  • By bus
    - Probably the most popular service if you are not pressed for time and you don’t own a car. One of the most well known bus companies is the SAPTCO, in which it has comfortable and air-conditioned buses. The buses in Saudi Arabia are required to have screened-off section for the private use of female commuters.

  • By taxi
    - It may cost you extra Saudi Riyals but this is a great option if you want to have a more personal space whilst traveling. Taxis are available in all metropolises.

  • By car
    - In Saudi Arabia, women are restricted to drive on public roads; only males 21 and above are permitted. There are major international car rental agencies dotting in the country. Riding in a car is an ideal mode of transportation because the highways are excellent and the gasoline is cheap.

  • By train
    - trains in Saudi Arabia are categorized into three classes: Second, First and Rehab. Each class is equipped with modern facilities to give utmost convenience to its passengers. There are no reserved seats available so it is better to arrive early and claim yours.
