By Air
Flying by air is one of the most convenient and comfortable way to reach UAE. UAE has four international airports wherein the main ones are in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. All the international airports of UAE are strategically situated at different points in the entire nation.
Major Airports
- Abu Dhabi International Airport - currently the second largest airport in UAE and one of the fastest growing airports in the world. With growing numbers of passengers and new airline operators, the airport is undergoing a major expansion to accommodate everybody. The airport stretches 32 kilometer east of the city or around 40-minute drive from top tourist destinations. Abu Dhabi’s airport terminal spaces are dominated by Etihad Airways, the second largest airline in UAE after Emirates Airlines.
- To/from the airport: Buses and taxis are available at the airport. Al Ghazal taxis operate a fixed-rate service.
- Facilities: Duty-free shop, bank, bar, snack bar, bureau de change, post office and car hire.
- Dubai International Airport - a public type of airport that is considered as one of the busiest airports throughout the world operating various flights from Dubai to Europe, South America, Australasia, Africa, Southwest Asia, North America and Southwest Asia. Dubai International Airport is the main airport in Dubai and one of the largest in UAE. The airport has two terminals each caters impeccable services for the betterment of the passengers and airline companies. Dubai International Airport is deemed a major aviation hub in Middle East.
- To/from the airport: Taxis and buses are available at the airport. Bus stations are opposite both Terminal 1 and 2.
- Facilities: Duty-free shops, bank, post office, shops, car hire, restaurant, snack bar and bar. The airport consists of two terminals.
- Sharjah International Airport - one of the largest and most significant cargo hubs in the Middle East. The airport is composed of five cargo terminals in which it stretches 32,000 square meters (total floor area). Sharjah International Airport is the home base of Air Arabia, a low-cost carrier flying to different destinations in and outside UAE. With the establishment of Sharjah International Airport, many airlines have benefited from its excellent services and facilities.
- To/from the airport: Taxis are available at the airport.
- Facilities: Duty-free shop, car hire, restaurants, snack bars, ATM and bureau de change.
- Ras Al-Khaimah International Airport - stretching 15 km or 9 miles from the city of
Ras Al-Khaimah and 3 hours away from the capital city of UAE- Abu Dhabi. The airport has modern and secure ambiance and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. This international airport also provides personalized services to customers, thus giving a convenient trip as they tour around within and outside the country.

- Facilities: Duty Free shop, prayer rooms, lounges, parking and business facilities.
There are numerous international airlines have scheduled flights in UAE. Here are some of them:
- Lufthansa- founded in 1926 as Deutsche Luft Hansa Aktiengesellschaft, Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe and the flag carrier of Germany. Its hubs are in Frankfurt International Airport and Munich Airport.
- Swissair- this former national airline of Switzerland flies to 157 destinations in different parts of the world. Zürich Airport is its main hub.
- Iran Air- it operates to 20 scheduled and 5 charter destinations across the world wherein its main base is in the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran. Iran Air is the national airline of Iran.
